busy time

at the moment there is no racing and not much training on...
next week i'll plan my season 2009...!

29th at lucerne half marathon...

...out of 2557 runners. a good race. a good pace. a great day. 1h 17 min 43 seconds. 3.41 per kilometer. team-mate ramon krebs was 8th overall at the marathon in unbelievable 2h 37min 15 sec! well done!

lucerne halfmarathon

on sunday i'll help ramon, my team-mate, that he can run his marathon in a great time. my goal is to help him out as good as it gets as a pacemaker or just run my race. cause his pace will kill me... keep your fingers crossed for both of us. thanks!

5 place at aeschi mtb-duathlon / 2nd overall at mtb-duathlon-series 2008

it was a perfect autumn day!

many competitors made the way to aeschi. the participation record was broken. good for the duathlon sport and for events like that.

my team-mate ramon krebs had a great race. he started very fast on the first run and could make an important gap between him and strong runner luky gehring already there. i had a slow start and changed to the mountainbike around place 6. in the 21km bike session i could hold my place after some alternations of duathletes around me. finally i finished 5 after an all right running split.

ramon won the race! great to have him in the kona bike team switzerland for 2009. congrats!

in the overall bike duathlon series of 2008 i was 2nd behind luky gehring, who won 3 races and came in second in aeschi.

Die Kultmarke steigt in den Schweizer Rennzirkus ein!

Die Bikemarke «KONA» will sich künftig stärker auf den Schweizer Marathon/Cross Country Markt fokussieren und wird deshalb ab kommendem Jahr mit einem Schweizer Marathonteam an den Start gehen. Das «KONA bike team switzerland» wird das Hauptaugenmerk auf die iXS-Swiss Bike Classics und Etappenrennen richten und wird aus fünf Athleten aus der Region Bern/Thun bestehen.

magglingen rides

on saturday i did the 7.8 km uphill bike-race biel-magglingen. after 500m of climbing i came in 7th position. this is not that great, cause just 40 riders started. but well, i still was glad to have done this 30min race, which shall keep me in shape for the next sunday. then my last race of the season will take place.
my friends from work where cheering at the finish in magglingen and we went for an easy bikeride in the afternoon. the warming sun, to be above the fog and the very great colours of the trees made this ride really one to remember. we went to biel for having dinner in a nice restaurant and slept in the hotel in magglingen.
on sunday we did another tour of more than 2 hours. again lots of logging roads and some cool singletracks were leading our way. after a break we said good bye to each other. the group went home by car and i was riding all the way back home. another 3 hours out there in the beautiful and warm sunday afternoon. the autumn season shall go on like that for another month!

the red bull jungfrau stafette is a crazy race!
our team, mcg stage productions ag, took the 5th place! it was a bad day for the winter disciplines. the skiing, the glacier-run could not be started, cause it was snowing all day and it was too big a risk to let them start. also my discipline, the mountain uphill run could not be done. i have to run 5 k's flat therefore. at least something. i took the 8th place in a field of 34 runners. not to bad, not to good either. but the overall ranking for our team was great! hope to start next year as well!
