Offroad Duathlon Swiss Championships

great day. great race. great panorama. great course.

Vice-Swiss Champion Offroad Duathlon

YEAH! silver medal at the first swiss duathlon offroad championships!

lenk, a beautiful village in the bernese mountains, was hosting the offroad championships. and it was really offroad. quite short first run, a brutal 900m climb on the bike and a rough downhill and then another 950m hillclimb run was the way to go.

unfortunately there where two other duathlons in switzerland, so there where just 6 men overall at the start.

the first run was slow and i could take the lead at the end of the run, followed by simeon senn, joseph brügger and roland scheuner. on the bike senn pushed hard on the step climb and i fell back on third position. brügger was second. it got a bit more flat and i could get the wheel of brügger. in the next step part he had to suffer and let me go.

from there on i could manage about a minute in front of brügger until the second change. the hill-run was steep on the first k's and bloody steep on some sections.

finally i was 6 minutes back of winner senn, and 1.5 minutes in front of scheuner. brügger could not get the pace and was finally thrown back on 5 place.

what a day for me! i am happy to still be able to run, after all these biketraining over the last few month.

storms - superschorle

ramon and simon welcome storms as a new supplier of our bc bike race project!

we will drink superschorle before and after racing. it is a biological swiss product. without sweetenners and preservative contents. there are two tastes available so far: apple/lemon and apple/cassis.

1st place fun categorie 20-30 years

in my second mtb marathon i could already win my categorie! i started in the fun 1 categorie (20-30 years old) the 94 kilometers and 3500 meters of altitude at monte genereso. it was a hard and quite technical race. but just so great. some parts of the race were in italy. a big part of the race were nice singletrails and old romain pathes. an the view was just great everywhere.

my living-mate manuel scheidegger was 7th overall! great race for him!
in the picture you see our bikes just washed after the race. they had to suffer at least as much as we did...

i am looking forward to fly to canada in 3 weeks now. the only thing that hurts is my back. hope to not get bigger problems, but with good massage after every stage i will handle it overseas.
ramon, my teammate was 52nd at halfironman rapperswil. and he realised the 13th roadbike-split overall! a great performance. he is ready for bc bike race as well! congrats.
